1 pound firm or extra firm tofu(can be frozen), drained and water lightly pressed out
Marinade:
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp soy sauce
garlic powder
ginger, optional
a few drops of toasted sesame oil, optional
Coating Mixture:
3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 tsp oregano or Italian seasoning
dash of salt, optional
Preheat the oven to 400F. Spray a baking sheet with vegetable oil.
Cut the tofu into cubes. Let sit in the marinade for about 15 minutes. Drain.
In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, nutritional yeast, onion powder, garlic powder, mix well.
Take a few cubes of tofu, place in the coating mixture, put on the lid and shake well to coat. Then place onto the baking sheet.
Bake tofu slices for about 10-15 minutes per side, turning them halfway through.
Serve with your dipping sauce of choice.
